Step 10: Editing Content
Before we go building all our pages for our website, I’m going to show you the basic page editing functionality in WordPress. WordPress makes editing website content easy and allows you to insert images, add links, format your text and even upload documents.
If you can use a word processor such as Word (which you should have done in the previous step!), then editing content with WordPress won’t be much of a stretch.
Following is a lesson on how to edit content using WordPress:
View Your Pages

Make sure you’re logged into WordPress then click on the Pages menu item on the left of screen. This will bring up the Edit Pages screen and list all the pages you current have on the site. At this stage I only have one, the About page.
Edit the page

When you mouse over the About title, you’ll notice 4 additional options appear. Go ahead and click on the Edit option.
Adding Text

Adding and editing text in Worpdress is very much like using a word-processor. Go ahead and type some stuff in and have a play with the basic formatting options such as Bold, Italics, Bullets, Numbering, Quotes, Alignment (left, centered, right).
Adding Links

To link off to another page either on your website or anywhere on the web:
(1) Select the text you want to link from
(2) Click in the Link button
(3) Type in or paste the page URL that you want to link to
(4) Click the Insert button to finish
Inserting an image

To begin inserting an image, click on the Add an Image icon.
Choose your image

You will now be presented with an Add an Image window. To add your image:
(1) Click Select Files button
(2) Select the image you wish to add
(3) Click the Select button to upload your image.
Customize image settings

Once your image has uploaded you’ll be bale to make some changes to the way it appears in the page. It’s good practice to add Alternative text – text that describes the image. In this case I’ve also left aligned my image so it appears next to my text. Once you’re happy with your settings, click the Insert into Post button.
Save your changes

Once you’re finished updating your page, click the Update button.
Viewing your page

You can now view your page by clicking the View Page link.
Admire your work

Your first edited page is complete. Just click you browser’s back button if you want to get back to the WordPress editor.
