Step 5: Choosing a Logo

A quick word on logos and branding. If you don’t already have a logo for your business, then here’s how you can get a professionally designed logo for under $100.

Get Your Branding Right

Many people underestimate the power of branding when they’re starting out. It’s an area that some people try to scrimp and save on – which is a mistake in the long term. Spending $3000 with a professional graphic designer to design your logo, stationary and signage is money well spent in my book. But given this guide is about bootstrapping your business website setup, I’m going to recommend a much more affordable service.

99designs.com has 1000′s of ready made logos for you to choose from. You can purchase a logo for $99 and have it customized with your business name. If you wish to have exclusive rights to a logo then you’ll pay a little more – $199 will ensure no one else uses the same logo.
